A few photos of Luxie kitty relaxing by the trunk. Post may contain affiliate links.
I was walking around the house the other day with a long-ish lens on my camera - it was a 135mm. I don't use it very often because it is so long, I have to be pretty far away. It's a great portrait lens and it also comes in handy walking around taking photos in the garden. What it is good for is sneaking up on kitty cats. In this case, I am out in the hallway, probably about 15 feet away from Luxie. With that distance, she doesn't come running over when I get down on the floor to take her photo. I thought she looked so regal there, on the rug with the antique trunk behind her. She is facing the window, so her face is nicely lit. The other beauty of this lens is that I can shoot almost wide open, with a very narrow depth of field and let in a lot of light. You can see how narrow my depth of field is, only her face and front leg are in focus, everything in front of and behind that are blurred.
Sorry, that's the professional photographer coming out during my Caturday post!
For my artsy photo, I ran the photo through the Topaz Labs Simplify Plugin, using the Oil Painting preset.

Luxie is so beautiful where ever she poses... lovely art editing really shows off Luxies' bi-color markings.

A lovely set of selfies, and the oil painting setting provides a wonderful effect combined with Luxie's colourings. ERin

Oh my gracious me Pam, these photos are stunning. I'm sure it has something to do with Luxie being ever so photogenic but it's your professional style that brings the entity to life. That last image is simply picture purrrfect...
Thank you so much for sharing, Pam...
P.S. I read your note about the peonies. I'm just curious. Have you divided them recently?

what beautiful photos of Luxie. That is the downside to the long sense-often you are too close. It was perfect for this.
