We have a screened in back porch with a cat door. This allows our kitties to come and go as they please and we feel a little bit of comfort knowing that if a dog was chasing them, they could take shelter on the porch. It's where feral kitty, Winston spends most of his time in the winter. In the summer, the cats like to lay on our wicker furniture. I imagine that it's cooler, letting some air flow underneath them. One of their favorite pieces is this very worn out wicker stool. We keep talking about learning how to re-wick it, or whatever you call it. It sits at the corner of the porch. Our porch actually is more at a second story level (they have to go up a flight of stairs to get to it), so they have a nice bird's eye view of the yard. That's why you see trees directly outside the screen. I caught Coco taking a nap, and disturbed her a bit as I snapped her photo!
For my artsy photo, I used the Topaz Labs plugin, but I didn't make a note of which preset that I used.

Catching up from the past couple of weeks...
It just hit me as I was looking at these beautiful shots. Coco reminds me so much of one of the cats I had when I was a teenager. Her name was Bambi. Such a gorgeous kitty...Bambi and Coco. Thanks for the walk down memory lane. 🙂

That's pretty darn close to a catio--And I am a huge fan! I just screened in an area like this for my Popoki, and she rarely leaves it. It's wonderful to provide these safe, outdoor spaces for our little hunters.

We are so accustomed to seeing Luxie here that we are not sure we even knew about Coco. She reminds us of our calico Lily snoozing away the HOT days on the porch settee. Can't be much fun wearing a fur coat in the heat. It looks like rather a nice spot for snooze. I'm sure there are folks in your part of the world who repair wicker furniture. It's quite a specific craft but I fear it costs as much to repair as it does to purchase which is such a shame.
