Opp Pinot Gris 2015

A review of a Mouton Noir Wine, OPP Pinot Gris, 2015 for Weekend Wine Reviews #335.

O.P.P - Other People's Pinot Gris, 2015, Mouton Noir Wines from Wine Awesomeness.

They say:  From Williamette Valley, Oregon.  From winemaker André Mack comes O.P.P pinot gris.  When a neighboring winery went out of business, Mack purchased a few of their barrels of Pinot Noir that still needed bottling.  He referred to it as O.P.P. - "other people's pinot" and that's how the wine was named!  On the  nose, smells like the morning brine of ocean air with energized apple, supple guava and electric lime.  A plump roundness.  Freshly bloomed lilies, chalk dust and white gummy bears.  Watered down canned pineapple, white chalky earth notes braided into crisp fresh flowing water.  Pinot Gris and Pinto Grigio are made from the same grape, but Pinto Gris is a more serious, New World white.  We say:  Really yummy!  Complex for a Pinto Gris.  Lots going on.  Honeyed apricot with a very large and creamy mouthfeel.
