Is it hot where you are? It's supposed to get to 94 degrees today with a heat index above 100! Now, I grew up in St. Louis where it gets horribly hot and humid in the summers. Temperatures above 100 were common with humidity out of this world. When they found out I was moving to Chattanooga, TN my St. Louis friends all commented about it being in the south and the heat. But you know what, it's so much nicer in the summer than in St. Louis. I don't know if it's the mountains or what, but we rarely get into the 100's and our humidity is usually fairly comfortable. Today St. Louis is supposed to get to 104 - a full 10 degrees warmer than us. See what I mean?! But still, 94 is not my favorite temperature! Luxie and I spend most of our days in the air conditioning, but we venture out for tiny breaks on the screened in porch. We have the fan lazily moving a breeze for us, I have my iced coffee and she has some cool water in a bowl and it's summertime and kitties on the porch for us!
I have a table in the middle of the porch that I do some of my food photography on. It is right under the fan and Luxie has claimed it as her own.
Personally I think the wicker setee would be cooler, but she seems fond of the table. How are you keeping cool this summer?

Thank goodness we've had a reprieve from the heat. The fan went out in my car and so the air conditioner is not blowing. Ugh. Even as mild as it is, it still sucks. Getting it fixed over the weekend. Whew!

I can't blame Luxie for claiming the seat right under the fan! It has been a hot summer- even up here in Michigan. We get really humid weather here too, but summer weather doesn't last past mid-September. Beautiful photos!

We think the mountains do make it cooler. We are burning up on the MS Gulf Coast and would love to be in the mountains right now.

Keeping cool in the only 2 weeks of summer that we've had in the UK hasn't been easy as we dont have air con. So we generally have just been lying on cold surfaces and by fans until the cool of midnight. Then of course it's rained the rest of the time so its been a case of somewhere warm to dry out!

I live in the central valley of California and it's gets hot. Triple digits are pretty normal for July and August. We tend to stay home in the air conditioning when it's that hot.

Luxie is definitely leading a life of lazy luxury. Sounds like a northern Queensland summer to me. We are having a properly cold winter - lovely sunny days though - but little rain.
