    Coco Kitty Relaxing Inside

Coco kitty is an indoor/outdoor cat.  She comes and goes at will, but we do bring her inside every evening (except for the couple or so times a year when she gets all full of herself and won't come in at night.)  But all of that has changed with these last two weeks of weather!  No, we don't have snow or blizzards like some of you, but we've been so cold.  Our average high is in the 50's and we are barely making it into the 20's!  Coco has apparently decided that this is not for her.  She has not gone outside for days!  This is the first time in years that she has stayed inside 24/7!

    Calico cat sleeping

She moves from heating vent to heating vent.  From sun puddle to sun puddle.  While I enjoy having her in all day long, there is one small problem.  She doesn't use a litter box.  She never has.  When she first showed up at our door as a medium sized kitten, she was already set in her ways.  She drank water from the bathroom sink faucet and she went to the bathroom in either the tub or the sink!  We think that she must have been kept in a bathroom.

She now mainly goes in the sink in our downstairs bathroom.  It's not as bad as it sounds, since I just scoop it up with toilet paper and flush it away, with the toilet right there.  Then we run hot water and baking soda down the drain of the sink.  We remind ourselves that it could be worse, she could be going on carpets or the floors, so really a sink is so easy to manage.

Anyone else have a cat that uses the sink or are we the only lucky ones 🙂

It's good that she wants to stay inside when it's cold. It is unseasonably cold everywhere this year! We have been below 20 for many days this month. Very different for Nashville.

I have never heard of a cat using the sink, but hey, that is a lot better than the floor/carpet, like you said. Wouldn't be a deal breaker for me. 🙂

Love the arty shot this week. Gorgeous!

I don't blame you Coco! My dog Phoebe likes to stay warm & cozy inside. She'll hold it in for hours just so she doesn't have to go outside to potty!

Coco is beautiful! When HopeCat got older, she would tinkle in the sink and always do her other business on the hard floor next to the tub. She was a "special needs" cat, had she been a person she would have been in a special education class, so we never fussed at her. You are right, there are many worse places to have a cat "go".

Miss Pam, I'm glad Coco isn't venturing outside in the cold. It is just rainy here like it always is in the winter. I also potty in the bathroom. Mom keeps my litter box in the tub that way I have a built in privacy with the shower curtain. Tee hee tee. Purrs.

That is an awesome selfie picture effect, it is truly like Coco has been watercolored into the scene... a sheer delight! I drink from the bath taps, chase and eat mice in the bath, and once dropped a live rat down the toilet but thats as far as I go with regards doing any sort of chores MOL

We all use litterboxes here although Scylla prefers going outside unless it is too wet. Poor doggies have to go out no matter the weather. Do you think she would use this https://www.amazon.com/CatGenie-Self-Washing-Flushing-Cat/dp/B008JGIYVE/ref=sr_1_8?ie=UTF8&qid=1515328774&sr=8-8&keywords=toilet+for+cat

We sure wish we had one.

Over the years, various of mine have used the sink or the tub. You are right - there are worse things. Purrs to your lovely kitties.

I don't think Coco going in the sink sounds bad. At least you don't have to buy litter! She looks so pleasant and pretty enjoying the sunny window.

No my kitty uses the box. It is a small price to pay. Kitty are usually quite clean-once you have a pet it is not as disgusting as you think. Happy New Year. At least she is safe and warm.

You have a very nice green thumb.

Have a fabulous day. Scritches to Coco. ♥
