Tuxedo Cat Patchouli in the Yard

You don't see much of our tuxedo cat, Patchouli, on the blog because she is a little bit of a hermit.  She is also a big scaredy cat.  The weather was really pretty though for a few days and she ventured out in the yard with me.  I was out taking photos of the spring flowers.  Yes, we already have some spring flowers.  I always look at my calendar as soon as lent starts and run outside to get photos of my Lenten rose (hellebores.)

black and white cat up close

She really is such a pretty kitty cat, it's a shame she isn't more laid back.  Her black and white fur makes her tricky to photograph though!  If I meter for the black, her white blows out and if I meter for the white the rest of her looks to dark.  So, I usually try to get a sort of happy middle ground.

Shortly after I took these photos, it got cold again.  Then rainy.  So, Patchouli and I are back at work inside where we are nice and warm.  Hopefully she will venture out again soon.

Patchouli is gorgeous! I've had several black and white cats over the years. They are always so pretty. One, her name was Bianca, had a little black marking under her nose that looked like a mustache.

      Love that artsy shot!

She might be a tricky photo shoot but well worth it, pretty girl.

Great pictures. We had crocus come up, but with two snow storms they didn't make it. Hoping to see tulips when the snow is finally gone.

Patchouli is beautiful. WE had very nice weather last weekend and all got outside and did yard work. Now it's back to be COLD so we are huddled under covers and enjoying the flowers from the window.

That is one cool filter. Delicate and so effective. There is a lot of alert movement I sense in the picture.

      Happy Sunday Selfies!

What can I say but she is delightful, and I can imagine how hard it is with the white black thing going on. The artsy picture is superb too, and adds quite another dimension to the original, full of energy and stronger emotion.

she is such a pretty girl! I actually think it is good that she is a "scaredy cat", (actually, I prefer to call it more discerning........), she is less likely to venture into trouble being that way.
