    Kitty Napping Among the Orchids

LAST UPDATED: January 20, 2019 PUBLISHED: March 16, 2018 By Pam Greer 29 Comments As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases.

Cat napping on a table among orchids

Happy St. Patrick's Day!  Oh, when we were younger Mr. Sidewalk Shoes and I enjoyed many a St. Patrick's Day.  Green beer.  Pub hops.  Silly hats.  Now, however, you'll most likely find us like Luxie kitty above.  No, not taking a nap among the orchids, but definitely taking it easy.

I've reached the stage in life where I don't want to go out on the big days.  You know.. Valentine's Day, New Year's Eve, etc.  So many people, so much traffic, so many impaired drivers.  I know I sound like an old fuddy duddy, and I'm not (other than I used the term fuddy duddy - which I don't think is even used anymore.)  It's just that I'm more than happy to stay in on those days and go out on regular days.

Luxie kitty - calico cat among the orchids

As it always happens, a poor sweet kitty, silently napping is disturbed once again by a camera click.  Luxie wants to know what does it take for a kitty cat to get some undisturbed napping around this house.  On another note, she does think that she looks quite lovely among my orchids!   This is only the third time the little one in front of her has bloomed.  I was about to give up on it blooming again!

For my artsy photo, I used the topaz labs Simplify plugin.

That look on her face...priceless! She really does have such a cute face.

I'm with you, Pam. I don't go out on the big days either. I can remember when St. Patrick's Day was a big deal for me. Not anymore. Like you said, too much traffic, crowds, etc. and I live in Nashville which keeps getting more busy by the minute.

What an adorable cat! I hate dealing with crowds, but sometimes I do enjoy going out on special holidays... like my husband and I usually go out for steak & seafood on Christmas Eve and it is one of my favorite nights!

Cat amongst the Orchids sounds like a great title for a cosy mystery! She does look very happy though, and who can blame anyone for seeking out a bit of peace and quiet, even on St Patrick's Day!

PS That is a lovely filter effect and really accentuates the beauty, plant and feline within.

We thought Mommy was the only one who said fuddy duddy. She doesn't like crowds so she too like to stay in on Holidays and go out on other days.

I would rather stay in and snuggle with Athena than go out at night. I did all that when I was younger and never really enjoyed myself, even if I got drunk (which was often).

      Love the photos as always!

Luxie it is much more important for a calico to look gorgeous beside a purple flower blossom than to sleep. think about it, ask your mom for a mirror so she can show you how ravishing you are! Great job on the Topaz effect too! Lucky kitty!

Who wouldn't want to nap amonst the orchids. I love when orchids bloom and bloom again and again. I have one now that is dropping it's flowers for the third time...I think I'll let it go and see if it goes for a 4th time...3 is what I usually get.
      Enjoy your weekend Pam.

Luxie looks beautiful naturally, and the arty version with its popping colors makes her look even more beautiful. I am a fuddy duddy too. Better to stay home with the cat than go out with all those drunk people. Happy St. Patrick's Day!

If that's the case then I'm an old fuddy duddy too. I'm good with it. We hate the big holidays at the boat and stay home where it's quiet and peaceful. Had all the crowds I care for.

Luxie is a beautiful and photogenic kitty.

Have a purrfect day and weekend. ๐Ÿ™‚
