If there is one item every capsule wardrobe should include it's a white t shirt. Last week I shared my Grey TShirts, this week I am back with another must have item. White t shirts are probably my most worn item. They are great for dressing up or dressing down and make layering easy.
Spring Capsule Wardrobe Layering
I don't know about where you live, but this spring has come in fits and starts. Warm summer like temperatures one day and almost freezing the next! This is when a white t shirt really comes in handy, perfect for layering. For today's outfit I have a scarf (some pretty scarves), a jean jacket (Levi's Original), Cato white T Shirt (Similar), Jules & Leopold slim black pants (Similar Anne Klein), and black sling backs (similar Kenneth Cole.)
Tip for Buying White T Shirts
You can see that my white t shirt has a little bit of flare and style, with a nice drape, which is great for going out. However, I live in white t shirts over the summer, wearing one almost every day, since I am usually out working in my garden. I need shirts that can stand up to being worn and laundered every week. My secrets? Mens!
I buy 6 packs of men's t shirts! They are so inexpensive! I get a v neck and I usually get two sizes. One that fits perfectly - which is a men's small and one that is loose which is a men's medium. Sometimes I want one that is a little more fitted. One summer, I even tie died a couple of them! As they get old and worn and too dirty to clean, they go to the rags pile and I get a new pack.

I am finding mens tee's fit up top but are far too long, is there a formula for the length, I will shorten them, just not sure how much to shorten.

LOL, during the 80s I would buy six packs of men’s “ wife beaters”... my “skinny days “ They were perfect for layering or wearing to the gym or even just running to the grocery store, never thought about T-shirts before but definitely will explore that

Oh, this is a great tip! Especially for those days when you are out in the garden and sweat a lot and don't want a dark color on! It's also a great inexpensive way to get white tee's in your closet to style and if it gets a little tiny hole in it (don't you hate that?) you didn't pour a ton of money down the drain on it. Love it styled with the denim jacket! The lighting is so pretty in these photos!
