Luxie Kitty Light and Shadows
This post is going to be super short, because I am super tired. There is one thing I have to say about getting old and that is, I can no longer handle less sleep very well. In my 20's sleepless nights barely fazed me, now I feel them for days.

A couple of nights ago, I had leg cramps. Anyone else get them?! Even though I take muscle relaxers every night for them, I still get them sometimes. That night was particularly bad, I had 3 episodes of them! I had to get up each time and stumble around in the dark, walking in small circles by the bed, just trying to walk them out.
I was hoping to make up for it last night. Shortly after going to be it started storming. Lightening. Thunder. I kept getting up to look out the window and check the weather app.
Two nights with barely any sleep. I have a foggy headachy feeling.
These photos are Luxie sitting right in front of some morning light coming in the window. I like the play of the light and the shadows.
I used Topaz Labs for the artsy photo.

I feel you on the no sleep and the leg cramps. I'm still somewhat of a night owl, but I pay for it dearly now that I'm older (I'll be 50 next month). Like you said, I pay for it for days. The leg cramps are awful. Plus, I have restless legs syndrome (more common in those with sleep apnea, which I also have) and that causes me many sleepless, or at least fitful, nights. Just know you're not alone. <3
Beautiful shots of Luxie. I love them!

Yes, not being able to sleep is awful and it does get worse the older you get!

I don't get much leg cramps but I do get Harvey tap tap pinging for me to hold his goes while he drinks * sigh * at 3 a.m.
I love and appreciate your pictures they are such an inspiration to an photography newbie like me AND you have the world's top model!
Pam Greer says
You're lucky you don't get many leg cramps!

Well, since most of us here are cats and need lots and lots of zzzzz, we feel for you. We take lots of naps but generally humans only take one long one a day, so we hope you get a long nap tonight.
Pam Greer says
I did get a good nights sleep last night!

Our Mommy gets leg cramps sometimes they are so bad she has to get up and take a HOT (as she can stand it) bath. She sleeps with a heating pad and takes muscle relaxers. And she says you are so right about the lack of sleep.
Pam Greer says
I'll need to try a hot bath.

Taking great pictures is such an art. A happy combination of obliging cats, nice setting, light, timing, patience and skill. Oh if I had half of those I would be happy!

Great photos of such a pretty kitty! My mom can still run on a little sleep, but her problem is she can't sleep all night anymore. Human problems!
Pam Greer says
I'm still having trouble sleeping too!

Wow that is a cool filter! We think it makes the perfect picture even better.
Pam Greer says
Thanks!

Thank you for joining the Pet Parade! I love your photograph and sympathize with your leg cramps. When my husband gets them, he pinches his bottom lip and they ease up. I know that sounds wacky but I just thought I'd share with you.
Pam Greer says
I will definitely give it a try!

Miss Pam, my mom can relate. She gets leg crampies sometimes, too. She was told that leg cramps can mean that the body is a little bit dehydrated. Drinking more water can help. Mom doesn't do well with lack of sleep either. She feels like a zom if she doesn't get at least 10 hour a day. Maybe humans really need 16 hours of sleep like us pussycats?!
AMAZING photos of the lovely Luxie Kitty!
Pam Greer says
I'll try making sure I stay hydrated!

Luxie is lovely in the sun and shadow. Positively gorgeous!
I get leg cramps but not as bad as yours. I definitely can relate to lack of sleep and being tired! I hope you feel better!
Pam Greer says
Thanks, I finally did get some sleep!

I have to say that during the heatwave we had here in UK, about 6-8 weeks worth, neither I nor Mrs H slept much more than 3-4 hours a night. We were zombies by the time cool nights came, and the rains. Cramps are awful and some minerals help relieve that if drunk or taken in pill form.
We adore ll three selfies of Luxie this week, the light and dark works wonderfully on its own as well as with Topaz and her coat.

Luxie looks beautiful against the black background. From someone who considers 3 hours sleep to be a good night, I hope you get a better night's rest tonight. Not only does lack of sleep make you tired, it causes so many other effects too.
Pam Greer says
I know, I have this constant headache!
