Adrienne Vittadini Scarf - Winter Capsule Wardrobe
While fashion trends come and go, big shoulder pads in the 80's anyone?! One thing that stays constant and that is scarves. I have two tubs of scarves, one for spring and summer and one for fall and winter. I have vintage scarves that belonged to my grandmother and I have scarves that I bought myself right out of college that are probably considered vintage now!
One of my favorites has been this "vintage" Adrienne Vittadini Scarf with kitty cats on it! Here I've taken if off of my neck and tied it to my Kate Spade purse. This was probably one of the first scarves I bought as I entered my fresh out of college corporate job at McDonnell Douglas in St. Louis. That would have been in the 1980's. I think it's worth noting that the colors - black, white, and camel are the same colors I am choosing some 30+ years later for my Winter Capsule Wardrobe.
For this effortless Winter Capsule wardrobe look, I chose Nine West Leopard Flat, dark jeans, Kate Spade purse, Target striped long sleeve t-shirt, and my Adrienne Vittadini cat scarf. This is loosely based on outfit number 6 from the French Minimalist Capsule Wardrobe Winter 2018 from Classy Yet Trendy.
Having a Capsule Wardrobe has changed the way I dress. Have you heard about the choice paradox? It turns out the more choices we have, the less happy we are with our choice and the more stressful it is. Having a set of clothes that pair easily with one another, is a huge relief. I am not overwhelmed by choices.
If you are building a capsule wardrobe, here are a few staples you might consider: Kate Spade Leopard Flats, Cat Print Scarf, Striped T-shirt, Luna Wrap Dress.

Nothing like a perfect scarf . . .
And I've verified the research on choices. Our family traveled cross country for five weeks with only a backpack apiece (crowded minivan), so everything I wore had to fit into a back pack and it was WONDERFUL!
If I could live like that forever, I'd be fine.

Boy Pam, you are one very busy girl. This is the first time I've seen you do a fashion show. You looked great in your dark jeans, leopard flats and cat scarf. I might copy that outfit for tomorrow...with a different scarf. Like you, I have draws of them.
This was a lovely post and I'm always learning something new from you.
Happy Weekend.

I need to get a cute little tie scarf like yours! How cute that it has cats on it! 🙂 That'd be perfect for me, since I have 2 furry friends.
