    Azaleas, Phlox, Peonies and More

LAST UPDATED: October 3, 2024 PUBLISHED: April 18, 2016 By Pam Greer 9 Comments As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases.

A few spring garden photos for Garden Tuesday.

Bluebells and hellebores share the spring stage.

I've been seeing some of the snow pics from some of my blogger friends in Colorado and other places that got snow this past weekend.  I don't envy you at all.  Oh, in December, I might have envied you, but now, nope not a bit.  Spring has officially sprung here in Southeastern Tennessee.  The trees are leafing out, daffodils and tulips are fading and late spring/early summer flowers are blooming.

One of my favorite later spring blooming flowers are Virginia Blue Bells.  The lenten rose (hellebores) provide a lovely backdrop for them.

Proven Winners 'Leapfrog' Foamy Bells Heucherella hybrid

The "Leapfrog" Foamy Bells Heucherella that I got last year from Proven Winners has popped back up.  I love the chartreuse leaves with the burgundy accents.

    Peonies

My peonies have grown tall and lanky.  The hickory tree that is near them has just grown so large, that I don't believe they are getting enough sun.  I'm afraid to move them though, I'm not sure how well peonies tolerate being moved.

    Creeping phlox

Creeping phox cascades over into the street in the bed by our mailbox.

    candytuft

Candytuft sends up bright white flowers on a compact plant.  It's leaves almost remind me of rosemary.

    Azaleas

And last but not least, azaleas.  It's just not springtime in the south if your yard isn't filled with azaleas.  These aren't even mine, they belong to the neighbor across the street.  I love them because he doesn't keep them trimmed in the perfect round mounds that my husband insists that we need.

With our uninspiring autumn upon us (well at least not in my garden) your pretty spring blooms are refreshing. Especially love those azaleas.
