    Summer Berries

I hate summer.  I hate heat.  I hate the sun beating down on me stealthily creating wrinkles.   Summer has only a few redeeming features in my eyes.  Turquoise blue skies with fluffy clouds, fields of flowers and a profusion of berries.  That’s it.

Let’s address the third one, shall we?  The profusion of berries.  Nothing makes my heart beat so happily than a table filled with strawberries, or raspberries, or any other kind of berry.

While we have an abundance of strawberries and blueberries, it’s the delicate berries that I am really drawn to.  You know the ones that come in the tiny containers and cost a fortune – raspberries and blackberries.

    Blackberry Vodka

This time I decided to take my cherished blackberries and use them to infuse some vodka.  Spread the blackberry love over a drink or two.  I found this in Winter Cocktails, which is interesting because this just screams summer to me.  Again, I am so drawn to infusions.  I love something that does all the work for me.

This vodka is summer in a jar.  Also, don’t you love my Mason Tap.  If like me you use mason jars for just about everything, you will love it!! If you know someone else who loves infusing, this Mason Tap Kit is perfect.

First of all, isn't everything better when served in a mason jar? I love the idea of this drink infused with fresh blackberry flavor. Perfect for a hot summer day.

I hate summer too! I went from 3 months of Australian summer to 6 months of South East Asian summer. Currently craving some cold weather but with a cocktail like this, I guess I can last a little longer. Love the thyme and blackberries together.

Well this sure sounds easy enough! I would think there was some big process to infuse the flavor - love the ease and blackberries are my berry of choice!
