Booze & Vinyl: A Spirited Guide to Great Music and Mixed Drinks
Booze & Vinyl: A Spirited Guide to Great Music and Mixed Drinks is an absolutely fabulous cocktail recipe book! But it's so much more than that. It pairs albums with cocktails! How genius is that?! This is the kind of cocktail book that you want to read cover to cover.
The first thing you notice when you open the book is the gorgeous photography! Gorgeous rich tones with cocktails styled with albums.
The book is divided into 5 chapters, plus an introduction. The introduction talks about the book and how it is organized. It also tells you how to host a boozy listening party and their favorite two and three ingredient cocktails.
The first four chapters are by music genre or feeling.
Chapter 1 is Rock and features albums ranging from Led Zeppelin to the Beastie Boys.
Chapter 2 is Dance and opens with James Brown and closes with Lady Gaga.
Chapter 3 is Chill. And chill you will with everything from Elvis to Wilco.
Chapter 4 is Seduce and it opens with Frank Sinatra and finishes with Bon Iver.
Each album gets a page of liner notes, covering a little bit about the album and group. On the opposite page are recipes that can be paired with that album. It is interesting reading about the albums and all of the cocktails sound so good. I have already marked several to try!
This would make a fantastic gift book for anyone that loves music and cocktails - and that is practically everyone I know! The only problem is that it's such a great book, I want to give it to all my friends now, I can't wait for birthdays and holidays!
