    Frosty for Garden Tuesday

    Steam Rising from Bird Bath

I don't have one of those fancy birdbath heaters.  Or rather, I do, it's me.  In the winter, I usually go out once a day and dump the ice out of the birdbath and fill it with warm water.  If it's really cold, it takes several of these warm water trips to thaw the ice enough to actually put water in the birdbath.  You can see the steam rising.

    Pine cones

Again, I'm working from my massive archive of garden photos.  Picking ones that I think are interesting and trying to purge the others.  I'm trying to at least keep them in season, but don't be surprised if you see some flowers here, because unless we get something exciting like snow, my garden is pretty uneventful right now.

How about you?  Do you have a backlog of garden photos?  Share them now!

Frozen birdbaths are not an issue here. Before Christmas, we had thunderstorms and lightning strikes nine days in a row. Now we are on our eighth day of high temperatures and humidity. Yay. . . summer. . .

Needless to say the garden is looking pretty ragged. The weeds and insects don't seem to mind though - they are thriving and the resident blue tongue lizard is as happy as can be.
