Every once in awhile I feel the need to step out of my reading comfort zone. A good example is The Great Zoo of Chinaby Matthew Reilly. I’m not sure what made me decide to read it, but I’m glad I did. It was different than what I’m used to and I enjoyed it for what it is.
What it is, is non-stop action from start to finish. China is getting ready to unveil it’s Great Zoo, what makes it so great, besides it’s huge size is that it has dragons. When I first read of the dragons, I groaned. I was looking for action, not fantasy. It was not till I got to the end of the book and the author mentions how this book will be compared to Jurassic Park, that I realized what he was going for.
That being said, I think it would make a wonderful movie. It has the kind of action that translates better on screen than on a page filled with words. The kind of movie my husband watches, where after the hero/heroine gets out of one impossible scenario after another, they always have a witty comeback.
It was fun, not my usual cup of tea, but I enjoyed it.

Sounds more like something Ryan would enjoy. But everyone does love a good dragon!

Sounds like a fun read...not my normal type of book either, but maybe I'll give it a try.
