The Miracle Morning
Have you all read the book The Miracle Morning? It's all about how the habits that we do in the morning can set the stage for the rest of the day. It has a lot of info, but what I basically took from it was to have a sort of centering time in the morning. You can meditate, read, journal, exercise, set goals, and/or create visions.
Not Quite First Thing Morning Time
Everyone's schedule is different and I actually don't take my morning time until I've already been up for about an hour. When I first get up, I grab my coffee and head down to the computer. I read emails, read some blogs and do my social sharing. Then I eat breakfast, get dressed and then take my morning time.
So, morning time doesn't have to be first thing in the morning, it can be whenever it works best in your schedule.
Morning Journaling Time
The things that I have added to my mornings since reading The Miracle Morning are planning, journaling, meditation and yoga. Well, I was already doing yoga, but I am much more regular with it now.
When I first sit down for my morning time, I set my phone timer for 5 minutes and I journal. I start with one sentence of gratitude. Just one small sentence about what I am grateful for. It doesn't have to be earth shattering, today I was grateful for the sun streaming in the window, yesterday I was grateful for chocolate.
I then continuing journaling for 5 minutes. I write about whatever is on my mind. Today it was Thanksgiving and the logistics of having my kids scattered in all different directions.
Morning Planning Time
After my timer goes off, I use to ToDoist app on my phone to copy my recurring tasks or anything that needs to get done to my paper planner, I use Erin Condren.
Then I start my day, doing an hour or so of whatever I need to do.
I take a break and do yoga followed by meditation.
If you're still with me, thanks! That's my morning routine and it is working so well for me. I realize that since I work from home, I have way more flexibility that those that work outside of the home.
For my artsy photo this week, I used Topaz Labs:

My mornings usually start with some dog snuggles and belly rubs then two cups of coffee. It's a great way to greet the day.

It's the perfect way to start the day!!

I've not read the book, but I love my mornings. I'm a slow starter, but once I get going I'm fine. Quiet time is the most precious. No sounds except the clicks of my typing while I visit blogs. I love mornings.
Lexie is a beautiful kitty.
Have a purrfect Feline Friday and weekend. ♥

I love mornings too!

What a sweet kitty! I love that you share your cat on the blog often! I have 2 of my own. My mornings are spent working out before the kids wake up. I wish I had a little time leftover after working out for some quiet time, but I guess I have all day after I take them to school. 🙂 Your morning sounds lovely!

I really need to do this. I have started a weather and garden journal, but it only takes a few minutes. Luxie is adorable 🙂

I'm up every day at 6 so I can take my sons to school. I need to start doing something like this when I return from dropping them off. It might help me to accomplish more goal wise.
Luxie, looking beautiful as always. Love that artsy shot!
Pam Greer says
You should give it a try and let me know how it goes!

I like the structured element does not have to TART your day. I know that would just put me off, but making it an important part of each morning THAT I can get behind!
(It's been a public holiday here so we are late commenting! Sorry!! We hope you had a great Sunday though)!
Pam Greer says
It really is a good idea to start a morning routine.

Luxie, you are stunning. Our mom wishes she could be as organized as your mom. She does try to exercise on her Peloton everyday. It always makes her feel more energized for the rest of the day. Have a terrific week. Thanks for hopping along with us. XOCK, angel Lily Olivia, Mauricio, Misty May, Giulietta, angel Fiona, Astrid, Lisbeth, Calista Jo, Cooper Murphy and Sawyer

Thank you! I wish I had a Peloton!

I totally admire your structure, and the fact that it doesnt have to be. I do have a part routine but things do seem to overtake it more often than not.
I have to say a morning without a fine feline is a morning that is incomplete. Same goes for seeing Luxie in the selfies.

I also like that it's a structure, but still very fluid.
