We are having a horrible summer weather wise. I know it's nothing to compare to the wild fires and flooding that are occurring elsewhere, but we sure could use some rain. A few summers ago we had a summer like this one. Where rain heads in and then makes a perfect split in the middle and leaves us dry. Sometimes the rain is so close that I can smell it. Other times, we hear the thunder and our trees bend over in the wind, but no rain.
So, I spend countless hours arranging and rearranging the sprinklers. You'd think it would be easy, but each time, I try and find a more optimal solution. Just the right angle that gets me as much bang for my buck. We have so many flower beds and herb beds, it's impossible to get them all without several bouts of repositioning. It takes me hours. I set an alarm and go out and move them every hour.
When I went out to move them recently, I noticed that we had picked up a hitch hiker!! This praying mantis was definitely enjoying the nice shower that he was getting and seemed to be enjoying the ride!

That shot of it covered in little droplets is fabulous

What a neat discovery, Pam! We feel your pain here in south Texas. We need rain badly. Praying for some soon!

Remarkable photo of the mantis! The weather sitch here is very similar where they forecast rain, it's unbearably humid, gets cloudy and nothing. Most of the showers we have had amounted to nothing and the even fewer storms always do damage then back to dry weather. I hope your garden appreciates all your hard work.

What a wonderful surprise! He looks quite happy with his little shower! It's winter here so I don't have any current garden photos to share on your linky.

Those are great photos. We are glad we have a well so we can water the garden because the town has a water ban.

We could do with a little rain here. It's been cold but not wet. Maybe the mantis is praying for rain also.
