    Project Breathe Week in Tennessee

    Luxie as a kitten

It's Project Breathe Week in Tennessee next week!

Luxie wanted me to post a photo of her as a kitten to really grab your attention.  This is a very special caturday post because next week is  Project Breathe Week in Tennessee.   Project Breathe Week comes from the Project Breathe Program formed by The Invisible Fence Brand, which is headquartered in Tennessee.   It's a pet oxygen donation mask program!   Next week Invisible Fence is going to donate 200 life-saving pet oxygen masks to fire departments all across the state of Tennessee!

    Project Breathe

In our area, on Wednesday Feb 15, donations will be made to the Signal Mountain Fire Department at 11:00am and at the Cleveland Fire Department on Thursday Feb 16 at 10:30am.

    Project Breathe Program

Industry sources estimate that somewhere around 40,000  pets die in fires each year.  I know that we had a fire a few years ago on our very street, and the woman lost her beautiful German Shepherd Dog.  I don't know if one of these masks would have saved it, but I am going to feel better knowing that my fire department, The Dallas Bay Fire Department, will get masks.  I will be following this link:  Project Breathe Program to request masks for my fire department and I encourage you to do the same.   So, far the program has saved an estimated 10,000 pets.   Since they started the program, over 10 years ago, they have provided over 13,500 pet oxygen masks to fire departments all around the country.  So, no matter where you live, make sure you check and see if your fire department has these masks and if they don't, please request them.

    Project Breathe Program

Long time readers know that I rarely do sponsored posts.  This is not a sponsored post.  I am not getting paid anything to bring this program to your attention.  I have read about it and I feel it is a hugely worthwhile program and one that I will support in any way I can.   I am not the only one who feels this is a worthwhile program, you can read all about it in People Magazine!

That photo of Luxie as a kitten really is an attention grabber! 🙂 I love it! This is an awesome program. I'm going to have to see if we have anything similar up here in Michigan. It is amazing how much they have been able to do to help pets in Tennessee.

This is a great idea! Thanks for spreading the word. I'll have to ask at my local fire station and see if they have them.

This is a very worthwhile program. I remember several years back when Blogpaws donated 50 of these masks to the fire departments around where the conference was. I have to request them for our FD.
