A few photos of some birds in my Southeastern Tennessee Garden.
First of all I would like to thank everyone that took the time to comment on my Garden Tuesday post last week. I was all in a conundrum because everything I was reading on having a successful blog was telling me to focus and find my niche. I think we can all agree that this blog isn't a focused blog. It's only niche is me, Pam Greer. You all made me realize that I'm not a commercial enterprise. I'm not out there to compete with the fancy schmancy blogs, I am here to just be me. Thank you.
Now let's address another issue, shall we. Yes, apparently I have issues, lots of them (just ask my husband). Does anyone remember when I said that I was going to take 5 new garden photos every week? Well, in looking at my Lightroom catalog, I have 1408 garden photos already taken, just waiting to be edited. So, it seems kind of silly for me to add to that!
Unless something spectacular happens, I'm going to be going through and editing and posting my old photos. Like these little birdies. I love shooting birds in the fall and winter, they are much easier to spot on the trees. Unfortunately, it's cold outside then, which explains why these aren't so good. I took them from the comfort of my home, shooting through a window.
On the other hand, I did get a new telephoto lens that should allow me to get closer to the birds. It weighs a ton and will need to be set up on a tripod, so that's going to have to wait until a warmer day arrives.
This was my series of birds with red. The top is a finch. The second is a downy woodpecker - can you see his little speck of bright red on the back of his head. The last two photos are male cardinals.

What a lovely variety of birds you get in your garden. I live close to a busy, growing city and all the pretty birds have been chased away by crows, Indian mynas and pigeons. We do still get kookaburras, magpies and currawongs but no more sparrows or blue wrens.
