Lavender Infused Gin for The Novel Bakers Lavender Week!

Lavender Infused Gin

First of all, I must begin this post by thanking The Novel Bakers for letting me join them for lavender week!  I am thrilled beyond words to be included in this group of extremely talented ladies.

I think it probably comes to no surprise to anyone that reads my blog, that I would open up Lavender Week with an infused alcohol.  I absolutely love infusing alcohols.  Most of the work is done by time and not by me, and that, my friends, is my kind of task.

The beauty of lavender infused gin is that very little work is done by anyone – me or father time!  After searching the web, I found that recipes for infused gin ran the gamut from infusing in 4-5 hours to several days.  I took it somewhere in the middle and settled on one day.  One day!  One day is all that is between you and this lovely aromatic gin.

Later in the week, I will share a cocktail recipe using this gin, so get some started now!

Lavender Infused Gin

  • 1 1/2 teaspoons of dried lavender
  • 1 (750-milliliter) bottle of Gin

Add lavender to gin and allow to infuse for one day. Strain.

That’s it!  Seriously.  I decanted mine into a canning jar and let it sit on my counter overnight.  I then strained it back into a bottle and added a cute tag.

It's a tough life infusing alcohol. But someone's gotta do it!
