In my How to Build a Capsule Wardrobe Series, this week I talk about adding an accent color to your capsule wardrobe. Simple colors with classic pieces make this minimalist style so easy to put together.

How to Build a Capsule Wardrobe
If you are new to my series, I have put together a series of posts on How to Build a Capsule Wardrobe. You can find the steps here: Step One (the closet purge), Step Two (choosing your neutrals) and Step Three (choosing your accent color.)
This week in building a capsule wardrobe is all about adding the accent color to your capsule wardrobe
Adding Accent Color to Your Capsule Wardrobe
So here we are, basically step 4 of your capsule wardrobe. You have purged your closet, chose your neutral colors and your accent color and you are ready to start filling in your wardrobe. I always keep a running list on my phone of what neutral pieces that I am looking for. I also keep a list of what accent color pieces I might be looking for. This makes such a huge difference when clothes shopping, I no longer just wander aimlessly through the store. My eyes now are trained to find my colors.
Adding blush to my capsule wardrobe has been such fun. My summer purse from last year, was this soft pink purse that I found at TJ Maxx. Some similar that I love (Kenneth Cole Reaction, Guess Huntley Blush, and Relic June Satchel.)
My scarf is a vintage scarf that I picked up at estate sale several years ago. It's soft pink and blue go perfect with my capsule wardrobe. Some similar (Pink and Gray Scarf, Soft Pink Elegant Scarf, and Pink Petals Scarf.)
One of my favorite finds were the blush slip ons from Michael Kors that I found at Marshalls! They go with everything and are crazy comfortable. Others that I love (Steve Madden, Bow Adorned Loafers, and Bowed Slip on Mule.)
There you have it. The basics for building a capsule wardrobe. You can use these steps for any season. I keep my same neutral colors and just change up accent color for the season.

I've been wearing black of late, but I just bought a fun pink Michael Kors purse (also at TJ Maxx, because who doesn't love a bargain?), and that adds color to my life. I love your blush color!

This a great tip especially when the internet inundates us with so much sales and things to buy. I see so many pretty things and it's hard to walk away at times but having a color accent and a list of what you need is a really good tactic to use when shopping.
