Luxie absolutely loves her little tree and the canvas runner that I have draped over the table. Today as I was walking through the house, I saw her laying on it with the early afternoon sun streaming in.
A quick trip to the dining room to pick up my camera, I was able to snap a few quick pics of her.
We still don't have our tree up, hope to get it up this weekend. We actually bought it Thanksgiving weekend and it's been sitting outside on our covered patio with it's trunk in a big bucket of water.
We've found that if we buy it early, but leave it outside drinking water until we are ready to put it up, it doesn't dry out so quickly.
We are going to have everyone at our house on Christmas. Some will be here Christmas eve and some will be here Christmas day. So, I'm trying to decide what to have to eat.
Some will just be dropping in and some are spending the night. So, I'm thinking a spiral sliced ham and all the fixings for sandwiches. Maybe a veggie and fruit tray.
I know this may sound strange, but I really don't like to cook around the holidays. I focus so much on cooking, taking photos and blogging about it all year long, that I want the day off when it comes to holidays.
I want to sit back and enjoy the food, not work.
That's why you don't see a lot of holiday recipes on the blog. Oh, there's plenty of cocktails, those I can manage. I'm also thinking about remaking these Dark Chocolate Rum Truffles - easy and almost like a cocktail 🙂
Well, I should probably keep this short, we are all crazy busy this time of the year!
For my artsy photo, I used Topaz Labs:
