A review of Ballard Lane Sauvignon Blanc, 2013 for Weekend Wine Reviews #304.
Ballard Lane Sauvignon Blanc, 2013, Central Coast, California. $13.49, Wine Insiders. They say: This sauvignon blanc show elements from both the warmer and the cooler climates that make up the region. It has a rich mouthfeel and tropical notes. They are balanced with natural acidity, intense lime juice and spices from the cooler areas. The diversity of the growing region, with it's changing soils and mild to moderate temperatures, and proximity to the ocean combine to form a complex, yet fresh wine to be enjoyed year round. Flavors of vibrant citrus fruits are wrapped in tropical fruits such as pineapple and melon. The palate and the nose are influenced by cooler elements such as white pepper and fresh cut grass. The fine mineral palate is supported by fruit layers. We say: A delightfully creamy sauvignon blanc with a full mouthfeel. Honeysuckle and citrus are dominate. Very, very nice!

With our beautiful weather today (spring is on the way) a nice glass of white wine would be just the ticket.
