I know my ratings seem a little high – there is a huge number of 4 out of 5.  I think that is because I didn’t do that many book reviews from a company or someone requesting a book review – so the majority of the books that I read were books that I chose to read.  That may change a bit for 2013 though because I am going to alternate my books with my huge virtual stack of Kindle Daily Deals.  If a book sounds halfway promising, I can not turn it down at $1.99.  So far, I have been pretty pleased with them, though.

I belong to a book club so I do read, not to the extent that you do though! I just wanted to suggest (if you haven't already read it) "West with the Night" by Beryl Markham. It is an autobiography written in 1942 and resurrected in 1983. It is the best book I have read in a long time. The author's descriptions are just spellbinding. Happy reading!

GREAT list, Pam! I keep a list on my blog, too, but I think I'm going to borrow your idea of adding a rating to each book this year, so when friends ask me for reading recommendations, I can actually remember what I liked the best! Thanks.

Love your book list. I haven't tried an E reader yet. I still *have* to have the book in my hand!

Quite amazing. I couldn't imagine reading that many books in 4 years! This year I just read some of the same books over again.

really enjoy looking over your year, your blog inspired me to read quite a few and i always liked them.had fun clicking through to read about others, your 20th century ghost sounds good, but i am very squeamish and spend to much time alone reading so i didn't like the quote will haunt you long after you read this book... its the 8' locust that drew me in, not the man washing his hands in children's blood :-(what was your rating for dog star? read that because of you too~thanks for a few more to add to my list, and i hear you of the buck 99, i added 25 in the last few days, read 3 so far and not disappointed :-)cheers to a happy new year of reading~

Wow--that is great, Pam. You are really a 'reader'... My mother used to love to read --and she tried to encourage me when I was a child. I never EVER (still don't) liked to read much.. I will read --but things like Genealogy, Health issues, etc...

Proud of you!!!! Glad you love your Kindle.
      Hugs,
      Betsy

I didn't think much of the Kindle Fire when our broker sent it to us for Christmas last year, but I now have over 450 books that I got for free (all except one), and I love it. I'd never have read Andrew Carnegie's biography of James Watt otherwise, along with a lot of other great (and some not-so-great) books. I'm glad you've had such a great reading year!
