Well, we have drank our way through most of the wine that we brought home with us from California. There are a couple of very special bottles left that we are saving for something. Maybe an anniversary or winning the lottery. Winning the lottery would be my preference there. Anniversaries are nice, but winning the lottery is very, very nice.
So, we made a trip to Costco. It was fun to see wines now from places that we've visited. This is not one of them, but we did pick up a bottle from Paso Robles and someplace else I can't think of right now. We are trying to bump up the price point of our wines, just a little. Nothing to extravagant, but more forays into the teens, twenties and gasp, thirties.
You may also have noticed that I took off the whole Weekend Wine Reviews from the title - it made too long of a title and apparently Google doesn't like long titles. But I will still keep track - and for the record this is Weekend Wine Reviews #245.
Catena Malbec, 2012, Mendoza, Argentina. Costco, $16.99. They say: wine of unique character that has natural balance, concentration and a distinct varietal identity. We say: floral and spicy, a bit of blueberry. Very nice. Buy again: yes.

Argentinian wine - that's a new one for me. We have Costco here now but it's always a madhouse. Interesting store though.
