On our recent trip to California, we stopped in for a wine tasting at the Clif Family Winery tasting room. We loved it so much that we brought back a couple of bottles. I've already reviewed Clif Family Gary's Improv Zinfandel. Today for Weekend Wine Reviews #246, I'm reviewing their Gewurztraminer.
Clif Family Gewurztraminer, 2012, Clif Family Winery, St. Helena, California, $25. They say: Refreshing aromatics of lemongrass and lime zest are followed by elegant flavors of white peach and lychee, leaving you with a slight evergreen and white pepper kick. The round luscious mouth feel leads to a bright energetic finish (from the 2013 bottle). We say: Aromas of pear and honeysuckle. Perfectly balanced acidity. Pear and apple at the front a bit of butterscotch at the end. Loved it! Buy again: yes!

I love a good Gewurztraminer. I was never a wine drinker and I started with these and rieslings! I now drink Pinot Noirs but in the summer I love to switch back to white. Thanks for the review!

One of my favorite white wines... I just hate trying to spell it... or say it.
Pam Greer says
I can say it, but I definitely can't spell it!

Now that does sound delightful. I might give that wine style a try next time I visit the bottle shop. Thank you also, for your lovely comment on my Stripes post.

I love Gewurztaminer, this one sounds wonderful with the hint of lemongrass. Sounds perfect for sipping during a sunny spring day.
