On our trip to California, we stopped at the tasting room of the Clif Family Winery. This is the same family that makes Clif Protein Bars! One of the wines that we tried, was Gary's Improv Zinfandel. We loved it so much we brought a bottle home with us.
Cliff Family Winery, Gary’s Improv Zinfandel, 2010. A full bodied Zin that is named after Gary’s love of jazz. It brings subtle aromas of cherries followed by hints of toasted vanilla and a smooth trumpet solo to the table. We say: Deep jammy nose, smooth with a little heat. Bold tannins. Complex. Long finish. Lovely!!! Buy again: Yes!

Sounds so lovely. Your tasting notes are making me want to abandon my morning cuppa joe for a glass of wine. LOL! ๐

A trip to Napa would be rather nice.

I'll have to check it our next time I'm out there. I've definitely never been tasting at Clif. How did you pick that winery? I'm always curious to see what others are looking for when they choose. After all, so many wineries, so few days.

Jeez, if I could own a winery in Napa and a best-selling energy bar I'd be one happy dude.
