Summer Mornings and Cats
We have had the most glorious weather this past week. Morning temperatures were cool and the humidity was low. Mornings like this were made for Patchouli and me.
Gardening with Kitties
It's a good thing we've had cool mornings, because I've been buying plants like crazy. During the time that I was basically working three jobs: special ed teacher, portrait photographer, and full time blogging, my garden was pretty much left to run itself with perennials. Since retiring from teaching, I can finally get back to gardening and spending time with Patchouli in the mornings.
You might also notice all the pretty clover in our yard. While my husband is not too thrilled with the clover taking over the grass, Patchouli and I think it's pretty. What do you think?
Short and sweet post today because it's another cool morning and Patchouli and I have work to do!
For my artsy photo, I used Topaz Labs.

I don't mind clover either 🙂 Patchouli looks like he's really enjoying all the green around him.

Beautiful pictures, Mommy needs to weed really bad, but it keeps RAINING here.

Beautiful! You know, I wish early settlers had not brought over the European love of lawns. They take up so many resources. Ugh.... I'd rather have perennials, clover, and maybe buffalo grass. ~grin~ Be well!

Thanks for sharing these great photos of Patchouli enjoying a nice cool day. The cool grass must feel great on Patchoulis paws. The clovers we think look great in the pictures. Have a great day.

I like the clover too. Grass is so boring. Patchouli looks so pretty among all that green! 🙂

Now that we've moved to our new property I'm hoping to start taking gardening seriously. I'm hoping to plant some plants and flowers and looking forward to creating a cat-friendly garden and getting a catio for Athena.
Your garden looks lovely and it's nice to see so much green. So relaxing.

Patchouli looks lovely enjoying the coolness of the grass. The clover looks pretty in the lawn, but we have to keep it out of the fields as it makes the grass too rich for the horses.

Aww, Patchouli looks at one with nature, growing from your lawn. Moss is a no in our book, chamomile lawn maybe and nip a definite! MOL

Such a cute kitty. We have not had great, cool mornings yet but I felt a turn in the air today. Let’s hope.

Clover is good for your garden ! It has nitrogen-fixing nodules on the roots (like peanuts) and this helps nitrogen get from the air to the soil, lessening the need for fertilizer !
Love the kitties !

I'm doing the same thing in the garden today---except its as humid as all heck. I went to the nursery yesterday for a fern and came home with catmint, dill, and more flowers. Then of course I see another spot that could use some color, or a pretty pot that should be filled, and off I go again. I don't know if I'm happier getting things done and over and just idly basking in it, or if I get more pleasure piddling around every morning. I can't be heavy handed as I spend a lot of time at the cottage and my husband can't be trusted to keep himself fed and watered much less my plants.
Your Patchouli is precious. I love a kitty that goes outdoors.
Happy Weekend, Pam!
