I was walking around taking garden photos, when I stumbled upon feral kitty, Winston, on our sidewalk stairs. I rarely find him in the front yard, so this was unusual. He's very cautious and careful and doesn't really spend much time in the front of our house. The back of our house faces a small wooded area that is narrow, but long. That appears to be his, and all the cats, favorite traveling route. The area behind our house is halfway cleaned out with paths to our compost bin and weed pile, but behind some houses, it is still quite wooded.
He's gotten even more comfortable around me, which you would hope, since this winter will be the third winter that I've been doing my best to take care of him. I think his hearing problem makes it much more difficult. I baby talk him, but it doesn't work it's magic, if they can't hear. But now when I bring out his food, he only steps a few steps away from the food dish. I was even so bold as to tap his paw with my finger ever so gently. He pulled it away, but didn't seem too upset.
For his artsy photo, I went a bit different and used the Woodcutting preset in Topaz Labs, I thought that it might be interesting with all the texture in the photo.
