This homemade RumChata is made with homemade horchata and rum! It is so delicious, perfect for sipping!
RumChata
Have you jumped on the Rumchata bandwagon? You know that delicious creamy, milky, cinnamon rum drink?
Well, did you know that you could make it yourself? That it would be everything you ever wanted in a delicious sipping cocktail?
Earlier in the week, I shared with you Homemade Horchata. I just had to come back and share one of my favorite ways to use it!
You also might have noticed the decidedly warm tones of this photo as compared to the riot of color in my Tiki Cocktails last week. I walked into Target and saw back to school supplies and I immediately click to fall. It doesn't matter if it's 90+ degrees outside.
It's the retired teacher in me, once I see school supplies, I am in my fall zone. Fall is my happy place, so I don't mind getting in the zone early.
Ingredients in Homemade RumChata Recipe:
Horchata - homemade or store bought.
Rum - you want a good dark rum. Meryer's is one of our favorites. You can also use Vanilla Infused Rum for even more vanilla flavor!
Cinnamon sticks and ground cinnamon for garnish. Optional, but a nice touch!
How to Make RumChata.
Add ice to a chilled rocks or highball glass.
Add 1 ounce of rum and four ounces or horchata.
Stir.
Garnish with some cinnamon on top and cinnamon stick if you'd like.
Yeah, it's that crazy easy.
Homemade RumChata is so Good!
I'm sure I don't need to tell you how good this was! It was perfect for sipping while I watch The Bachelorette and The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills Reunion (don't judge.) I also had some while sitting out on the back porch watching the fireflies come out.
It really is an all season cocktail. I can see it in the winter sitting by a fireplace, all you need is someone to snap your Instagram selfie. I can also see how refreshing it is in warmer weather!

I bought horchata and on the container it said to add 7 parts water to 1 part horchata. It’s a 16 oz concentrate. I added 5 parts vs 7 and it’s watery. Do you have any advice on how to add concentrate horchata?
Thanks!
Pam Greer says
No, I've never used horchata from a concentrate.

I love the Rumchata liqueur from the liquor store. I've used it every fall. When I run out I will have to make my own. Thank you!
