Luxie Kitten and Her Mouse
I hope you don't mind that once again I am sharing older photos. These are from November 2015, when Luxie was about 4 months old. She had come a long way from the stray kitten that was rescued from a car engine. She was a little ball of energy, playing with her toys constantly!
I am amazed that I was able to get that first photo. Sitting so prettily and looking right at the camera. Most of my photos from this kitten phase look like the second photo. Action, action and more action.
See what I mean? Now at the ripe old age of almost 4 years old, she spends a lot of her days slumbering. She'll play if I toss the mouse for her or judiciously sprinkle catnip around. But she doesn't spontaneously play like this as much. Which is probably why she has, ahem, put on a few pounds.
I really need to make an effort to make sure she plays every day. With the other cats being indoor/outdoor cats, they get more natural exercise. They are always running up trees, chasing squirrels and leaves.
I know that we made the right decision to keep Luxie as an indoor cat, but I need to make sure that I keep her healthy and entertained.
My artsy photo this week is using Topaz Labs, tried a different look.

Love your joy in mouse play. We all age and change, but we still have fun. The moments of wild abandon are just not as often.

nothing like kitten energy! What a cutie she was and now she is a beautiful "woman cat"........I am guilty of not making sure Cody plays every day too..thankfully he plays with Dakota much of the time so that helps

We love kitten pictures. With the icky weather we have been having we are all turning into lazy cats here. Mommy's bed is our favorite spot these days. Why even the doggies have their own beds inside now where they sleep when we don't ahem steal their beds.
Pam Greer says
Kitties are so good at stealing doggie beds!

She was so cute! I love kittens at play. Arya is eight and she's still pretty active. She gets on Alice's nerves sometimes, I think.
Love the artsy photo!

We've been doing some scheduled play time to see if that gets her girlish figure back!

What a lovely arty photo there. Even though I am an outdoor and indoor cat, I do demand playtime it is so important to share quality time with humans, as much for them as us.

That first photo really is a winner and it made for some fabulous art.. Mom thinks you should turn the art into a t-shirt design. We look forward to seeing Luxie on the hop tomorrow. XOCK, Kitties Blue

I remember when Athena was a kitten she always wanted to play but now she's quite lazy and yes, piling on the pounds a bit. I always make the effort to get her to play at least once a day or sometimes twice.
Love the art!

I try to make an effort every day too!

These are lovely photos of Luxie as a kitten. The last one is a great action shot.
I like the different effect you used for your artsy photo too.

Of COURSE we don't mind a post from the past! Especially since it's Cuddly Kitten Day, so totally appropriate. We just love that last jumping photo, particularly. Great shot!
