    Luxie Kitty as a Kitten

No new kitty photos this week for several reasons.  One - it rained for days and days and days.  Two - I still have 1,222 cat photos in my Lightroom cats folder to edit.  So, I really need to work my way through those before adding new photos.  Three - I've been having some eye issues lately and I have trouble seeing the back of the camera.

The Start of the Eye Problems

Excuse me, while I not talk about the kitty cats, but talk about my eyes.  There is always the possibility that one of you have experienced something similar and may be able to offer some advice.

I first noticed a problem when I was in the shower, brushing water off my eyes.  My left eyelid hurt.  It only hurt when I pressed on it, so I only noticed it in the shower or when I was washing  my face.

Then one morning I woke up with my whole eyelid and the area around my eye swollen.  Since my husband gets styes and chelazions, I knew to use warm compresses.  I first used cold, just to see if I could get some of the swelling down and then switched to warm.  Some of the compresses were probably hotter than they should have been, but they felt so good.

    Eye Problems Continuing

Eventually the swelling went down and I could see the small bump in the center of my eyelid.  It looked like a chelazion, so I continued with the warm compresses.

Note - I use a lot of eye drops because I have very dry eyes.  I also have rosacea which can cause some eye problems.

Even though my eye seemed to be progressing, I noticed that eye was blurry.  I have very bad vision and that eye was my better eye, so having it blurry, meant that everything was pretty much blurry.

    Enter the Eye Doctor

My eye doctor couldn't see me, so I saw the Optometrist.  She said that it looked like my eye was really dry and that chelazions can cause blurry vision.  She gave me a sheet with instructions for dry eyes.

I kept up with the warm compresses and using the eye drops a couple of times a day.  But my vision stayed blurry.

I finally got in to see the eye doctor and he said that my chelazion was way too small to cause blurry vision and has ordered some tests, because I have always had funny looking nerves in my eyes.  He wants to look at those again.

I don't think it's something internal like that because it all started with the swelling.  I've cut back on using my eye drops to just once a day in case they were irritating it.   I'm also afraid that I used compresses that were too hot, and that maybe I damaged my cornea.

Sorry for the long post all about my eyes, but I'm putting it out here in case anyone might have any input.

For my artsy photo, I used Topaz Labs:

I was sure I commented here earlier in the week and I remember reading your post. Maybe it went to spam. I hope you don't have to wait long for the tests, and I hope your eye problem is improving.
The photos of Luxie and the artsy effect are lovely.

You know we love that kitty! Eyes are so important. Mom goes to the eye dr anytime something seems amiss, which is thankfully, not often. We hope they can figure out what is causing your problems and get your eye back to normal.

Luxie was such a cute wee one! I've sure not had that kind of eye problem, I hope the ophthalmologist gets it in gear, I'm sure it's causing you a lot of worry. Thanks for joining the Thankful Thursday Blog Hop!

Sorry for your eye problems. I hope they get to the bottom of it. I've had a couple of problems with mine in the past, but nothing like that. I wonder if it could be tied to overuse of eye drops, but what do you do if you have dry eyes? It's a quandary.

I love these shots of Luxie when she was smaller. 🙂

I will not say 'so few' about the number of pictures, really! I have lots to organise in iPhoto! I am late coming to visit for the selfies, sorry!

I would insist that your specialist gets a move on. I am sorry I can't be more help.

Have a safe and good week!

Sorry we can't help about the eye problems, but prey that your specialist can get to the bottom of it fast before any damage is done.
Such gorgeous pictures of Luxie the kitten, she is ever beautiful, no matter age or the scenery she is in.

I agree with Carol - I think it would be hard to damage your cornea with compresses with your eyes closed. Eye problems run in my family so I can relate to your worries. Offering prayers that you will be healing up well.

Pam...corneas are very resilient and usually heal up by themselves. If that's the problem However, if you have a damaged cornea it DOES cause blurry vision, usually temporarily. However, it can take time. My cornea was damaged AT the eye doctor when they were testing me for contact lenses. It cleared up gradually but took a month. Can you use your computer with enlargement? There's a magic ointment called Muro-128 which cleared it up suddenly when I started taking it. Ask your doc about it! Write me if you need more info. Carol

PS: I can related re the 1,222 photos in your LR. Mine are more like 22,222!
