Luxie on the Dining Room Table

Are you a morning person or an a night person?  Maybe an afternoon person?  I am definitely a morning person. I am my most productive between 6am and lunch.  After lunch, I just want to nap.

The reason I'm asking is because I am behind today.  It's already after 1 and I am just now writing this post, which will go live at 2! This morning I got up at 6 as usual, but then I went to the gym. Came home, changed and rushed back out to run a bunch of errands and didn't get home until just a few minutes before lunch.

So here we are after lunch, and I haven't done a single thing at home that was on my to do list, and I'm already feeling my afternoon slump.

My husband is the opposite. He doesn't like to get up early, takes forever to get up and get going, and then is still going strong all the way until dinner time. Somehow we've managed to make it work for 30+ years. He will probably be retiring soon and I worry that our differences will become more obvious then.

On weekends, we compromise and get up at 7:30.  It's a little too late for me and a little too early for him.  But I don't know what we are going to do through the week once he retires. Right now we get up at 6:00, I get tons done on the computer before he leaves for work at 7:30 and I love it.

Today, I'm sharing Luxie on the dining room table. I've been taking a lot of my food photos in the dining room and the foyer and she finds the dining room table a nice location to use as her supervision post.

She also likes the pots of tulips that I've been bringing home from the grocery store.; We enjoy them and then when they start fading, we plant them in the yard.

Next Friday will be even worse for my schedule because my doctor has scheduled a CT Scan to try and see what is wrong with my eye for in the morning.

The woman from the hospital who called to set it up, was so funny.  Well, not funny really, but I thought she was funny. She had this really dry voice and she kept repeating a "CT Scan of your brain" and she kept dramatically dragging out the word brain.

So, please send positive thoughts next Friday.

My artsy photo was once again edited with Topaz Labs.

I hope your CT scan went well. You'll work out the schedule; people always do. Maybe you'll find you greatly enjoy the early morning solitude, without the bustle of Mr.Sidewalk Shoes getting off to work! Plus, more travel time....always a bonus.

We are a morning household for sure. Mom is up at 5, racing around, working out, working, just a whirl of energy until mid afternoon. In the evenings, she is worthless. We sleep in until 5:30 or 6 on the weekends if we are home, but it is more dozing, not sleeping. Morning is the best time of the day. Good luck with your CT scan.

Mrs H is a morning person, and I am a night cat and hunt all night and try to sleep all day. Works out quite well and where we overlap, nap wise, we enjoy together time.
Once retirement hits the secret seems to be to exchange one set of tasks (work) for another. A vacuum-unless it's the house cleaning sort—is not good for a soul that has worked all their lives. Anyways that is what Mrs H says and she is ancient so I guess it works, MOL
Aww, Luxie is such star, and posing with flowers makes her look as though she has been awarded them at some film gala.
Sending best wishes from us both, for a good scan of your eye.

I trained Mum to work her hours around me so we get up at 5am and she tries to get some work done in the morning but she struggles with that. By lunchtime I make her nap with me and then she is more productive after 4pm until 7pm.

Sending healing purrs and vibes xx

I am definitely a night owl. It causes me a lot of problems because I lack the discipline to make myself go to bed...most of the time. lol Then I have to get up at 6:00 am because my son, who is in high school, has to be there by 7:05. Ugh. I usually take a nap when I get back, after eating breakfast.

I'm sending all the positive energy I can for your test on Friday. Here's hoping they don't find anything serious.

I love the look on Luxie's face. Who me?

There is no dining room table that cannot be enhanced aesthetically by the presence of a feline stretched across it!

Luxie is a beauty. I get a lot done in the morning, but I don't get up that early. I like an afternoon nap and then I stay up until midnight. Praying all goes well Friday.

Y'all will work out the time thing, like you've worked out everything else over 30+ years, no worries. Congratulations on his retirement, how exciting! Love those pictures, Luxie is so lovely.
