My "photo studio" is in my upstairs guest room/sewing room/photo studio room. You know the room that used to belong to your daughters when they were little and now is a little bit of everything. We keep an antique iron bed in there, which eventually we will have to convert to a queen somehow. I can't even hardly find full size sheets any more. On the right as you walk into the room is an old cedar chest, that is my photo studio. It has a set of homemade lights, some old wood laid on the top of it and a small piece of peg board leaning against the wall to hold what ever backing I want to use. It's barely a 2 foot by 2 foot space, but I use it for all my food, wine and cocktail photos.
Luxie likes to come in and help. Her favorite place is curled up on the bed, facing my light set up. This way she can provide helpful suggestions, or fall asleep, whatever.
Since I already have my camera in hand taking food photos, it's a simple matter to turn around and snap a few quick pics of her. She doesn't seem too impressed with my work, does she.
And guess what? I forgot to do an artsy photo and I am just too busy to go back and create one. My photography season is finally slowing down, but I have a newborn session tomorrow and a family session and one more family session next week. I can't wait for the break, my computer is acting a little sluggish and will be 5 years old in a couple of weeks, so I am busy backing things up and getting everything in order. I usually start looking to replace my computer around the 5 year mark, since I want to be in control of the moving things to a new computer, not having to do everything in a panic because the old computer died!
