Luxie in Moody Light
Sometimes as I walk through the house, I find the cats in moody light situations. Like the above photos. This is Luxie sitting on the television table looking out the window. The window faces out into our screened in porch, so it lets in a very filtered light. It’s just enough light to be reflected on the white patches of Luxie’s fur.
The other area that can create a moody light is our morning planning table. In this case, it’s a little later in the day and the sun comes in at a pretty sharp angle. It creates a high contrast light with bright white highlights and dark shadows. Dark Shadows – now I’m thinking about that show. I remember rushing home for school to watch Barnabas Collins every day. It was one of my favorite shows!
This one isn’t quite as moody. Metering for the outside light, almost puts Luxie into a silhouette. But there is just enough light in the shadows to pick up some of the browns in her fur.
