Every morning after I've had coffee and breakfast and have completed my first batch of social media posting, it's time for morning journaling. I have a tall table that sits in a bay window. There is nothing on the table, except some Russel Wright pottery, a table runner, my journals and a cat. Yes, Luxie joins me every morning. As soon as I slide into my seat, she hops up on the table, that is if she is not already up there waiting.
I have two journals. One is a bullet journal, which lists my to-dos and various other lists - like restaurants I want to eat at, challenges I'm participating in and whatever else I find the need to write down. The smaller journal is my 5 Minute Journal. It's not the actual 5 minute journal, but a blank journal that I use for the. I actually use an app for my phone for my 5 minute journaling, but I also like writing it down. I've kind of tweaked it to make it work for me.
The original 5 minute journal calls for, in the morning listing 3 things you are grateful for, 3 things you are going to do to make the great and an affirmation. Then in the evening, you list 3 things that made the day amazing and what might you have done to make it better. I've changed it up and only do one not three things for each prompt.
It's such a special time of the day and I feel truly blessed that I can take that time out of my day to focus on gratitude and how I'm going to approach my day. Luxie uses the time to make sure she starts her day out looking her best!
For my art photo this week, I used the Topaz Labs Impressionist plugin.

These shots are amazing! Seriously, Pam...have you thought about putting together a book? I could look at your photographs for days!
I'm hoping to get into bullet journaling this year, but I hesitate because I find it a bit confusing. Any tips, or can you point me somewhere that got you into it?
I might have to try that five minute journal technique.

It is great that you have Luxie to snoopervise you every morning! How could anyone possibly get anything done without a kitty's help? MOL Luxie is such a beautiful little helper. 🙂

You have such a cool morning routine (and such a cute assistant). I hate getting up early, so basically my routine is getting ready for work ASAP (and petting my cat for 5 minutes before I leave for work)

That is a lovely effect from the Topaz plugin, it works so well with Luxie. It is wonderful how she stays with you during that morning period, and doesn't hassle you for anything, which some cats might... naming no names. purrs ERin

These are absolutely beautiful serene photos and we loved hearing about your journaling details too. We are going to suggest to our human that she do something similar because the manifesting beautiful things by intention is a wonderful thought. Thank you also for sharing how your made the beautiful impressionistic effect.
