Neutral Sweater Restyled Slightly Dressy
Last week I showed you my favorite casual look with this neutral sweater - Minimalist French Wardrobe A Neutral Sweater. Now, today I am sharing with you a slightly different look, styled ever so slightly dressy - or at least what counts as dressy in my eyes - which I admit is not too dressy!
I know what you're thinking. You're probably thinking, "Wait a minute, all you did was change your shoes, add an adorable bag, and a necklace." Yes, you're right that's all I did. And, with those small changes, it has a different vibe. A slightly dressier vibe.
This is what I absolutely love about having a minimal wardrobe. I can pull out the same pieces and put them together in different ways and know that I am staying true to my style. There is hardly any thinking involved. I don't need to stand in front of a closet full of clothes that I never wear, trying to decide what to choose. Personally, it's been a game changer for me.
This outfit is a Philosophy sweater, black skinnies from Steinmart, Kate Spade purse from TJ. Maxx and Nine West leopard flats from Marshall's. It is loosely based on the French Minimalist Winter Capsule Wardrobe found at Classy Yet Trendy.
Also, if you are thinking about building a capsule wardrobe, just remember you don't have to do it all at once. I did a huge purge of my closet, but there is still a section of clothes that are not in my capsule wardrobe. I rarely turn to them, but they are there. That adorable Anthropologie top with the umbrellas on it that I love to wear in the spring. It's still there. I'll wear it if I want to. The difference is that right now, I don't really go shopping for pieces like that any more. If I do shop, it's for pieces that fit into my capsule wardrobe, that can seamlessly mix and match with all the other pieces.
Similar looks and some of my favorites this week: Kate Spade Lottie Satchel Bag, cute Kate Spade pink bag with a magnolia flower, leopard mules with a bow, split sleeve taupe cashmere sweater.

I love it. That sweater is perfect. My beige sweater this Fall/Winter was too thin and tight.
