Petunias and Million Bells for Garden Tuesday

Calibrachoa (Million Bells) from Proven Winners

    Petunias and Million Bells

Back in May, I showed you these Supertunia Bordeaux and Superbells Blue Moon Punch that I received from Proven Winners.   I thought it was time to check back in and show you how they are doing.  If you have not tried Calibrachoa (also called Million Bells) - you really must.  They look similar to petunias, but they are smaller and so prolific.  I might actually like them better than petunias, but who should ever play favorites with flowers?!

You can read more about this particular variety - Superbells Blue Moon Punch.   I got the early jump start on these, they aren't available in garden centers until next year.  I love them.  They have bloomed nonstop since the day I planted them.  They don't seem to get leggy like petunias and I never have to remove spent blossoms.  Next year I am going to make sure almost of my garden pots have a few in them.  They come in a variety of colors, I've grown a yellow and a coral shade before.

I only took one photo of the petunias, but you can see that they are flourishing also.  This particular variety is the Supertunia Bordeaux.  I wanted you to see the lovely dark purple accents.  This is one of the top selling annuals of 2017 and I can see why.  It's gorgeous.  No matter how many new flowers I try, I will always have a couple pots of petunias on my porch!

Very pretty indeed. We need some rain here - decent rain; not the merest whisper that makes the weeds grow.
