Stella Bella Cabernet Merlot 2013
Stella Bella Cabernet Sauvignon Merlot, 2013. Margaret River, Australia. Wine Awesomeness Wine Club. They say: Cabernet Sauvignon is the dominant grape in this wine region and the southernmost edge of Western Australia. The first vines were planted in the 1960's. Before that most grapes had been grown in the Swan Valley, but pests and diseases drove the winemakers to look at different areas. This wine has silky tannins giving rise to a smooth mouthfeel. Fragrant with the scent of flowers. On the palate - ripe raspberries with soft floral notes and a dash of pumpkin pie spice. Would pair lovely with a sweet port tenderloin like this Bacon-Brown Sugar Pork Tenderloin. We say: Very nice and very drinkable. Smooth and creamy, red fruit. Perfect with food or drinking alone.

I am reliably informed by those who have visited the Margaret River area that it is a must see. Pity it's on the other side of the country and that for the cost a a flight, a week's accommodation and car hire I could probably spend three months in the States.
