A review of Truvée Red Blend from the McBride Sisters.
Have you heard of The McBride Sisters? It is the most fascinating wine family story that you'll ever come across. I'm going to summarize it here, but I recommend you follow the link and read all about it in detail. Andrea and Robin have the same father, but different mothers. They were raised apart, one living in Monterey, California and the other in Marlborough, New Zealand. The both grew up in wine country, but had no knowledge of the other's existence! They finally met in 1999 and with their shared love of wine started their own company The McBride Sisters! As négociants they have two brands of wine under The McBride Sisters brand. eco.love wine is their New Zealand brand and now they have the newly created Truvée wines from the Central Coast of California.
This week I am reviewing the Red Blend and next week I will review the Chardonnay.
The McBride Sisters Truvée Red Bland, 2013, Central Coast. They say: Velvety smooth with complex flavors of blueberry, blackberry, red cherry, caramel and cocoa with a long, elegant and flavorful finish. We say: we agree with everything they say! Medium bodied with blueberries and cherries with a definite hint of cocoa. Excellent! Buy again: yes!
**We were provided with complimentary bottles of wine, all opinions are our own.
