First of all let me begin by saying that this is not a sponsored post! I am sharing my new favorite gadget with you, just because I love it so much!!! I'm not going to get all scientific on you, and if you google why aerate wine - you'll find all kinds of different answers. Some people swear by the difference they taste in their aerated wine and some say it makes no difference at all.
Have you ever watched professional wine tasters? Have you seen them swirl the glass around and then breathe in deeply? By swirling the glass around, they are releasing some of the flavor compounds of wine into the air. Aerating, among other things, starts that process along.
We had been using a funnel with a sort of mesh screen over it to pour our wine through to start the aerating process. It was cumbersome and not much fun. So when I was at HomeGoods and spotted this Trudeau Aerating Pourer - I was HomeGoods Happy! It fits on the top of your bottle and you pour the wine through it into your glass. We didn't do any scientific experiments to compare a glass of wine aerated to non-aerated, but we had fun using it!
Even more importantly it is kitty cat approved? How about you, do you aerate your wine?

I'm a sucker for a nifty gadget. Better when it works. Even better when road-tested.

I like that it's keeping Coco interested. She's cute in the background of this picture. I don't have a Home Goods either, but since I don't drink wine, I guess I don't need an aerator. Some of my kids might need one, though.

I'm in the camp that says it makes a huge difference and I have a couple of aerators. Use them every time I open a bottle. Great photo!

I wish I had a Home Goods 🙁 Our closest is Cincinnati, boo! This looks like a really handy gadget though. My parents best friends own a vineyard and I can remember getting lectured on aeration when I was younger. People don't realize how important it is!
