Winston Enjoying Spring | Happy Caturday

LAST UPDATED: January 21, 2019 PUBLISHED: March 25, 2016 By Pam Greer 35 Comments As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases.

    Gray tabby kitty sitting outside

I was walking around outside the other morning taking photos of spring, when I glanced over and saw Winston, our feral kitty, sitting under the porch.  I'm not sure how old he is, but just these past few months, he's started to look more older to me.  I do so wish we could get further along in our relationship.

    Feral Kitty Winston

Right now, he seems comfortable on our porch and property.  He sleeps on the porch when it's raining and when it still gets a little cold at night, in the morning I find him in his warm house.   When I feed him, he doesn't run off, but steps aside about two feet and sits down.  I can reach over and he will lean forward and sniff my hand.  But I don't think he knows what it means to be petted.  He doesn't show any signs of wanting to be petted, so I'm nervous about trying to touch him any more.  If I make any sudden moves, he takes off, so he is still very skittish.

    Cat yawning

As you can see, he got rather bored by the whole photo session.

Tabby - topaz labs simplify Buzsim

I think he looks rather regal made all artsy, don't you.  For this, I used the Topaz Labs Simplify Plugin - preset Buzsim.

He looks very healthy...and he's a handsome fellow. It's just so great that you're taking care of him and doing it on his terms. I'm sure it means more to him than you will ever know.

      Gorgeous art image!

Lovely portrait shots of Winston Pam. For a feral cat he looks in very good condition.

Winston looks very dignified and pleased with life. He's lucky to have a guardian who cares for him and lets him live the way he wants. You never know... with time and patience he might change his mind about the benefits of a good head rub.

Winston is a very handsome mancat! It is great that he has found he can trust you, at least a little. Maybe soon he will get brave and decide to let you pet him and give him the help he needs. 🙂

He looks as though is happy in the sun. He is fortunate to have you for warmth. Sometimes they move closer to a safe home as they get a bit older - good luck in generating a closer love with the guy.

Winston is a big handsome boy and is looking well. Never give up hope of being able to pet him. It took 12 years before one of our ferals would let me pick him up or pet him. He became one of the softest lap cats ever for the last few years of his life.
