No New Kitty Photos!
When you look at today's post, you're going to think...mmm...those look very summerish and you know for a fact that Chattanooga does get some winter weather. No nearly as much snow as we would like, but we do get winter.
I haven't taken many photos of the cats lately, other than the recent Christmas photos. The problem is that they've turned into recluses and homebodies.
Recluses and Homebodies
Luxie has started coming downstairs in the morning for breakfast, but before we even have morning planning time, she heads back up to a cozy spot she has under the bed in my sewing room. In between under the bed storage containers she has a little area. She has managed to pull a skein of yarn out of my yarn tub and as made a cozy little nest.
She stays there all day, sometimes coming out for a few minutes around lunch, sometimes not. Some days I don't see her until tv watching time at night, where she gets on the lap of Mr. Sidewalk Shoes to sleep.
Coco Says Nah to Winter
Coco has also decided that she doesn't really like cold weather. She runs outside just long enough to go to the bathroom and run off a squirrel or two before she heads back inside to sleep in her location of the week.
This week's sleeping location has been on the suitcases in the closet of the spare bedroom.
Neither under the bed, nor the closet provide good photo opportunities.
No More Porch for Luxie
You might be wondering why there aren't more photos of Luxie on the Porch. She just got too smart for her own good. We had the cat door blocked and she figured out how to drag away the board and she ran out! Luckily I heard it and was able to run around and scare her back onto the porch.
I put a heavier block up, but she just worked at it and worked at it. She almost had it dragged away again, when I decided no more. After just a few days of standing by the door wanting to go out, she adjusted quickly back to being a total inside cat.
I am going to try and get a few new photos this week, so I can have some updated photos for you, on the other hand, I have 1,400+ cat photos that need to be edited, so you might just see some more old photos!

As I am fairly new to visiting you, all of the photos are new to me. I love the artsy effect with the way it brings out the colour, and particularly the way it highlights her ears in that lovely shade of blue.

Thanks for visiting! I plan on posting even more old photos!

Old photos or new, those are beautiful photos! Our Female Human has had some porch scared with us too. The worst was when Tucker fell off the upstairs deck railing and into the woodsy ravine about 50 feet below. Let me just say, it took The Female Human days to recover (after she ran down into the ravine and rescued him...he was fine by the way). We now have a catio and no felines go outside unless they are inside it (it's portable so we can enjoy a number of outside locations.)

Oh my gosh, falling off a balcony!! I would be terrified!

Well any of your photos are always wonderful. Luxie, that was lots of work but it's safer inside sweetie! Thanks for joining the Thankful Thursday Blog Hop!
Pam Greer says
It is much safer inside!
Annie says
New or old, they are a pleasure to look at! Thatโs great that Luxue now is indoor only. Annie loves to hide away the day too.
Happy New Year!
Pam Greer says
Yes, I feel much better having her be indoor only!

I know you must have been scared during the great escape! I'm glad you got her back inside quickly. โบ Happy New Year and thanks for joining the Pet Parade!

Thanks for hosting!

I'm glad you got her in. I had to keep mine in for several hours over new year due to the maniacs with fireworks. It is summer, and warm and EVERYONE got really REALLY irritated. Silver had to be locked in a bedroom which he hated too. * sigh *
They stick close when I go in the garden so I can practice taking though!
Pam Greer says
I didn't hear any fireworks this year, so that was good!

It is always a real treat to see the photos you share of Luxie and Coco, 'cause they are stunning -- each and every one of them. Purr purr purr. Mom asks if you have ever written tips on pet photography?
Pam Greer says
Thank you! I think I've written a post or two on photographing pets.

Oh no! Luxie got out!? Glad you were able to get her in quickly. Arya pulled an Alice on me the other day (you know the one...lie in wait, make a mad dash for the door). I tried to get her to come in immediately, but she ran up on the deck. I had my hands full so I stepped back in to put the stuff down and she was having a fit to come back inside. She did not like it. lol I'm glad. I don't need another cat enamored with going outside.
I love hearing about their sleeping places. Arya is pretty set in her ways, but Alice likes to change things up more. Maybe it's restless old age.
Lovely shots, as always. Hope you all had a wonderful Christmas and wishing you a happy new year ahead.

I hope you have a wonderful New Year's too!

We all tend to stay curled up napping here too. When it isn't freezing it's raining. Even Mommy tends to stay under the blankets in bed snuggling with us.
Pam Greer says
It's perfect snuggling weather!

Old or new, we just love seeing Luxie and Coco in or out in the sun or snow. We pretty much hide away, too, at this time of year, well there is nothing to really commend it, is there. . . well, bar santa that is and my birthday, MOL

Yes, it's the best time of the year for staying inside and napping!
Athena and Marie says
Beautiful photos as always.
I've not taken hardly any photos of Athena lately either. As she's an indoor cat, I always like to work with natural light and at this time of year it's hard to get good photos of bright green eyes ๐ I hate using the flash. I actually get better photos with just my iPhone.
Happy New Year!

Never a dull moment with those characters to keep you distracted!

Those kittycats, deciding they aren't cooperating with the photographer. Hmph. Well, what did we expect from cats, anyway? Happy New Year, Pam.
Pam Greer says
Happy New Year to you too Marjie!

You have two beautiful cats. One that is an escape artist but beautiful nonetheless.
Have a purrfect weekend you two. My best to your peeps. โฅ
