Luxie and I are celebrating the fact that we finally got some rain with some cloudy weather moody shots. These were taken with some soft cloudy light coming in the dining room window. Luxie and I love Moody Photos.
I practically got tears in my eyes yesterday when it started raining. I absolutely hate running the sprinklers. It seems like every time I do, I have to reinvent the wheel. Move them a little this way, a little that way, adjust the knob. Then I set the timer on my watch for one hour and then go back out and do it all over again, until I've covered as much of the yard and flower beds as I can.
I usually start at 6am and finish around 11. It ruins my whole morning.
It doesn't help that the neighbors on each side of us have installed underground sprinklers that pop up and begin watering while I'm out there hot and sweaty dragging the hose that invariable either gets knotted up or caught on something.
I consider installed underground sprinklers the ultimate in luxury and *when* I win the lottery, I am getting some. Noticed I said "when" and not "if" - positive thinking here. Though I am not getting any younger and I really would like to win very very soon so I have plenty of time to enjoy it. And, enjoy my new sprinklers.
Also, I know that this rain is causing such hardships for those in Louisiana and the people there are definitely in my thoughts and prayers. It seems wrong to be celebrating something here that is bringing hardship elsewhere, but we so desperately needed the rain.
My artsy photo is again using Topaz Labs.

We have automatic sprinklers here and I can't imagine doing it the hard way again. I have in the past and you're right it takes up a lot of time each day.
Luxie is a photogenic kitty and her mom is a great photographer.
Thank you for joining the Feline Friday Blog Hop.
Have a purrfect Feline Friday and weekend. ♥

I had to do it again today!!

Luxie sure is a pretty gal. We don't have a sprinkler system either so the Dad feels your pain. Thanks for joining the Thankful Thursday Blog Hop!
Pam Greer says
Yes, it's a complete pain!

Luxie is so beautiful. We have a sprinkler system, but this year we have had so much rain, we only used it one time way back in May. Mom would never make it moving sprinklers around, so we are happy the underground ones came with the house.
Pam Greer says
Oh you are so lucky!

I totally would not like doing what you have to do. Sounds like you don't either. lol You sound just like me about the lottery. 'When' I win. 🙂 Agreed...hurry up about it. I'm not getting any younger.
Great shots of Luxie.
Pam Greer says
Right! It needs to happen soon!

Gorgeous, gorgeous shots and I am with you in reference to the lottery. I always say "WHEN"...never "if" that being said, I can see how well THAT is working for me lol!
Pam Greer says
About as well as it's working for me!
Athena says
Beautiful photos!
We wish you luck on winning the lottery. We could do with winning too 🙂
Pam Greer says
It would be so nice, wouldn't it!

That is a lovely photo and effect.
We have had 3 weeks of hot dry weather which is continuing. The southwest of England is usually very mild and we get rain normally 2 or 3 times a week, often going on for days at a time. Normal summer temperature is 65, so 85 feels very hot to us and 90% + humidity every day too. The lush green fields have turned brown. I am not complaining though because I know others are suffering far worse extremes of weather than we are here.
Pam Greer says
I know, I feel bad complaining when others are flooded and worse.
