    Coco Kitty Helping Garden

LAST UPDATED: January 20, 2019 PUBLISHED: September 7, 2018 By Pam Greer 36 Comments As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases.

A few photos of my calico cat, Coco, helping me out in the garden.  Hint...she's not really helping.

    New Morning Routine

I don't know about you, but I am over summer.  It's like a switch has gone off.  I used to think it was just going back to work after summer break every year.  Even as the going back to date kept getting further and further pushed back, until it was August 2nd!  There is nothing about August 2nd in Tennessee that says fall, but it didn't matter, I was officially in fall mode.

Now that I'm retired from teaching, there is nothing official for me to declare it fall.  But it doesn't matter, I have.  I've already made Apple Streusel Muffins with Maple Glaze and Cranberry Pumpkin Muffins and this weekend I'm doing a slow braised chicken.

Fall is my very favorite season and if I want to start enjoying it a little early, I will!

    Garlic Chives - Go Away!

Coco is helping me this morning as I pull up the garlic chives.  Pull up chives?  Why??  Because garlic chives are bullies.  They will gladly take over my entire herb bed.  Here is post I did on Garlic Chives in happier times.  Now, I only leave about one clump of them and cut off their flowers.

For my artsy photo today, I used Topaz Labs:

Coco is a lovely model! I'm ready for the cooler fall temperatures too. I am retired from the school system and love not knowing when back to school is each year! Haha! Thank you for joining the Pet Parade.

I totally agree with you about fall. I'm so ready. I've been ready since the boys started school the first week in August. fall used to be my favorite season until I lived in the south for 25+ years. Now it's Winter. lol Maybe it will be my favorite season again when I move back to Michigan in three years. Probably so, considering how long the winters are there.

Coco looks like she was being a big help with the gardening. 😀 Her facial expression looks like she's thinking, "Lowly plants...bow to my majesty."

The Mexican Tarragon seems to be taking over our herb bed this year, usually it's the oregano but it hasn't fared to well with all the rain we have gotten. On the plus side the mint is doing OK.

And we are sure Coco is a huge help in the garden, even if you silly humans don't realize it. After all we know how much Mommy needs our help in our garden although she doesn't seem to appreciate it nearly as much as she should.

My oregano has been slower because of the rain also!

I'm not quite as ready for Fall as you are Pam but I'm getting there. The weather is starting to turn and today I wore one of my favorite orange sweaters...I will also be making those muffins that you are so generously sharing with us today. My little grands will love them in their lunch box. Thanks for sharing those...

      Have a lovely week...

Retirement brings new seasons, thats for sure. Also we get to look at them differently too. I was so over summer at the end of the heatwave, sort of mid August, but not ready for the fall and suspect by the time I am, it will be winter, and horrid again. Coco is looking delightful against the greens, and I figure she is doing her bit to frighten the mices away, MOL. Leastways I cant see any, so it must be working, right?
