    Infused Tequila

When asked to list my favorite hobbies, I often say reading, photography, gardening and infusing.  Yes, infusing.  I've already made Lavender Infused Gin, Blackberry Vodka, Limoncello,  Ginger Liqueur, and Vanilla Infused Rum - and these are just a few!

I decided to try combining two of my favorite things:  tequila and watermelon.  Infusing tequila is an easy way to kick up your margarita game!

Making Watermelon Infused Tequila is so Easy

Watermelon Infused Tequila  Genius.  So easy.  Time does all the work.  The tequila takes on a lovely hint of watermelon, in just a matter of days.  It's so easy, it's barely a recipe.  I made three cups, but you can really make as much or as little as you'd like.  All you need is tequila and watermelon!

How to make Watermelon Infused Tequila in a nutshell:

    • Chop about 2 cups of watermelon.
    • Combine the watermelon and tequila in a glass jar with a plastic lid.
    • Store in cool, dark space for one week, shaking daily (or whenever you remember.)
    • Strain into a decorative bottle.

Planning to make this, but had a few questions...How long will the watermelon infused tequila keep? A year? Once infused and put in jars foes it need refrigerated? If left on shelf do jars need to be pressure sealed like jams?

Most infused alcohols will keep for about a year. You can store it on the shelf or in the fridge. No need to can it!

I enjoyed learning more about your childhood, Pam. it must have been challenging for you moving around a lot. I love watermelon too - in fact this infusion contains two of my favourite things! Pinning. Thank you so much for being a part of Hearth and Soul.

You have opened my eyes to so many possibilities, Pam! This will be perfect for our summer parties! So steak and watermelon, huh? My oldest son loves steak, but I only buy it once in a blue moon. But I am really craving chimichurri so I might have to buy it soon. He is always asking for it, but I just can't bring myself to do it very often. I wish watermelon would do it...I'd buy that for him all the time!

And, of course, then you can blend the watermelon with a little vanilla ice cream for tipsy watermelon milkshakes, right? I could eat watermelon and bananas every day and never tire of them.

You would get along well with my mom. She is a nut about watermelon. I swear, she goes through 2-3 a week during the summer. I love watermelon, but definitely not like my mom!

Oh, and this tequila? I'll be making some ASAP. Good gracious, it looks awesome! 🙂
