If you've never tried the favorite Argentine cocktail, a fernet and Coke, you are in for a treat!  The sweetness of Coke is tamed perfectly by the bitterness of the Fernet-Branca making a crazy easy and so delicious cocktail!

Two glasses of Fernet and Coke in front of a cocktail shakers and a plant.

    Cocktails Using Coke

A few weeks ago, I bought some Coke to make a Cuba Libre.   A delicious variation of a rum and coke with the addition of lime juice.  Believe me, the lime juice makes all the difference in the world.

I had also bought some Fernet-Branca to try the Toronto Cocktail.   A yummy rye whiskey cocktail featuring the Italian bitter spirit.

Trying to not buy another bottle of liquor (my liquor cabinet is now 2 liquor cabinets and 2 shelving units) I went searching for cocktails that either use Coke or use Fernet-Branca, imagine my pleasure when I found a Fernet and Coke!

A Fernet and Coke (also known as Fernet con Coca) is a favorite Argentine cocktail.  With only two ingredients, I bet it's going to become one of your favorites too!

    A bottle of Fernet-Branca and a bottle of Coca-Cola

All You Need to Make this Easy Cocktail

Fernet-Branca - an Italian bitter spirit.  It is a bitter, herbal liqueur with a complex flavor.

Coke - I like to use Mexican coke which is sweetened with sugar instead of high fructose corn syrup.

    Ferent-Branco poured into two glasses.

How to Make Fernet con Coca

Fill a collins glass with ice.

There are many different ratios when it comes to the amount of Fernet Branca vs the amount of Coke.  We like to stick with a 2 to one ratio - two parts Coke to one part Fernet-Branca.

Add 2 ounces of Fernet-Branca to your ice filled glass.

Adding Coke to Fernet-Branca in a glass.

Top with 4 ounces of Coke and stir.

That's it!  You've just made the easiest and tastiest cocktail!

Two glasses with a foamy top.

We loved this easy cocktail!  The sweetness of the Coke was perfectly balanced with the herby bitterness of the Fernet-Branca.  Plus, you have to admit, it's crazy easy!   So refreshing!

    More Easy Cocktail Recipes

With only 3 ingredients:  rum, honey simple syrup and lime juice, you can have this Honeysuckle Cocktail.

Another favorite 2 ingredient cocktail is the Classic Dark and Stormy!

Use vodka, chocolate liqueur and coffee liqueur to make this sultry Chocolate Coffee Martini!

I've never tried Fernet before but this made it sound so delicious. Plus it just sounds fancier. I'm going to see if I can pick up a bottle for this weekend and let my guests be wowed.
