More and More Cocktails!
Has anyone noticed that I am doing cocktails twice a week instead of only on Friday? You all seem to love my cocktails so much, I decided to expand my cocktail offerings.
If it meant drinking another cocktail a week, I was up for the job!
I'm going to try and keep a sort of theme and group the cocktails, both for your pleasure and for mine. For the past few weeks, I did a series of rum cocktails, most of them Tiki Cocktails.
This week I am back with some gin cocktails. I am definitely a gin lover, so this theme will probably repeat itself a lot! This week I have two really simple classic gin cocktails, the White Lady Cocktail and The Southside Cocktail.
Ingredients to Make a White Lady Cocktail:
Cointreau - or your favorite orange liqueur. My Homemade Orange Liqueur would be great - I have a new batch aging, but it's not ready yet! I've started a few batches for Christmas gifts too!
London Dry Gin - your favorite brand, this time we grabbed Beefeater.
Lemon Juice - fresh squeezed of course!
Egg White - some recipes include egg white, which makes the drink even more white and ghostlike. I chose to leave it out, but feel free to include it.
Variation - Lavender White Lady Cocktail - use my Lavender Infused Gin.
Let's Make this Delicious Gin Cocktail!
Add gin, cointreau and lemon juice to a cocktail shaker. Fill about halfway with ice. Shake vigorously for about 10 seconds. Strain into a chilled cocktail glass and garnish with a lemon twist. We make our lemon twists using a channel knife.
If you are using the optional egg white, you want to dry shake first to emulsify the ingredients. To do that, add the gin, cointreau, lemon juice and egg white to the cocktail shaker and shake for about about 10 seconds, then add the ice and shake again.
This is a classic recipe and can be found in almost any good cocktail book, with slightly different ratios. I used the ratio found in The New Cocktail Hour.
Even More Gin Cocktail Recipes:
Satan's Whiskers Cocktail - Another great gin and orange liqueur cocktail!
Tart Cherry Negroni - Take a classic Negroni to a whole new level with tart cherry!
Blackberry Cocktail - a fun, fruity cocktail that everyone loves!
Gin Mojito - if you love gin and you love mojitos, you have to try this gin mojito!

Do you know what brand the coupe glass is in the main pic?
Pam Greer says
It is probably from the 50's or 60's because I got it out of my grandmother's china cabinet. I think, though, that it's a Libby brand.
